NFL Picks Results 12/07/2008
Yesterday marks the third straight weekend (Saturday-Sunday) that I went a combined 5-1 on my NFL picks and college football picks. I went 3-1 in the NFL yesterday, including two underdogs who won the game straight up in EASY fashion. I’m currently the only handicapper ranked in the Top 6 in all four sports (NFL, college football, NBA, NCAA basketball) at sports-bettors.com.
My NFL Sunday started with three early plays. First, I was on [Read more...]
College Football Picks Results 12/06/2008
I hate to sound like a broken record, but Saturday was yet another winning day with my college football picks. I went a PERFECT 2-0 for my clients. I stayed away from the conference championship games, as my handicapping led me to what I thought to be better opportunities to win the money. If you don’t know me that well, I can tell you I don’t make picks on every high-profile or nationally televised game. I put my money (and reputation) on picks I feel offer the best chance to win.
My betting day didn’t start until 8:00 PM ET when I picked [Read more...]
NBA Picks Results 12/02/2008
When football takes a day off, I look to basketball for some solid sports investing opportunities. I handicapped each game in NCAA and NBA basketball on Tuesday’s card and found two games that I thought provided us (my clients and I) with a good chance to make some money.
My first of two NBA picks was on [Read more...]
World Series Game 5 - Phillies vs. Rays
Tonight could very well be the last game of the 2008 MLB season. Although I believe the Phillies will win tonight, I do not see any value in laying -175 in this game.
The Rays are a great team or they wouldn’t have made it this far. And Scott Kazmir can shut down any lineup. So the value lies with the Rays, but I cannot play them because I believe Cole Hamels and the Phillies will wrap things up tonight.
The total is set at 7.5, but I’ll pass. Every handicapper has areas where they struggle and I am not a great baseball totals capper. Believe me, it pays to know one’s limits.
Thanksgiving Day NFL Preview
Happy Thanksgiving. What a day. All the food you can eat, surrounded by family and friends, and NFL football all day and all night. I really don’t know if it gets any better than this. The NFL has added a third game — a night game — to this year’s Thanksgiving Day slate. And this night game figures to be the most competitive of the three. Here’s a brief preview of each game on today’s card. [Read more...]
Gruesome Video: Houston WR Edwards Breaks Leg
Tuesday night’s college football game on ESPN2 between Houston and Marshall was the scene for a very disturbing and unfortunate accident. Houston wide receiver Patrick Edwards suffered a compound fracture of his leg midway through the third quarter. He ran to the left corner of the end zone trying to catch a pass, but then collided full speed with metal carts placed beyond the back of the end zone. This video is pretty gruesome and definitely not for the faint of heart. [Read more...]
2008 NBA Season Tips Off
The 2008 NBA season tips off tonight with games in Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. A new season raises a lot of new questions. It also brings instant replay into the league. This season, referees can now use instant replay to see if a shot was worth two or three points.
Many question whether or not the Celtics can repeat as NBA champions. Some point out that Boston’s “Big Three” are all over 30-years old and say the team may not be as hungry this time around. While that me be [Read more...]
Philadelphia Phillies Are World Champions
It took nearly two full days, but the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-3, in Game 5 to become the World Series champions. Brad Lidge closed out his perfect season by striking out pinch hitter Eric Hinske for the final out. And the celebration was on.
The Phillies were undefeated at Citizens Bank Park in the post season. Young lefty starter Cole Hamels was [Read more...]
